Noooo!" Background: Blue Falcon's checkered history is a case study in the perils of not sticking with what one knows. Art dealer Radley Crown's first foray into crime-fighting occurred when a potential buyer questioned the authenticity of a painting he had on consignment. Using devices of his own design (patent pending), Crown was able to determine that the painting was indeed a forgery. Police succeeded in apprehending the culprit before he could flee the city. Next, Crown was called in by a museum's insurance company when a priceless Mesoamerican vase apparently vanished from its display case and then reappeared a few minutes later. Crown discovered that the vase was genuine but that a number of the museum's other pottery exhibits had been replaced with look-alikes. Had he been content with these triumphs, Crown could have enjoyed a long, successful career as a consultant in art fraud cases. Instead, Crown decided that he should use his wealth and technical skills to become a superhero. He built a small arsenal of non-lethal weapons, designed a sleek hovercraft he called the Falconcar, and donned an impressive hawk-themed blue costume. With his gizmos and athletic build, the Blue Falcon could have perhaps become a moderately successful minor hero. Unfortunately, he decided that he needed a sidekick. Even more unfortunately, he decided to build that sidekick -- a talking robotic dog. The rest, as they say, is history. Blue Falcon spends much of his time escaping from deathtraps triggered by his partner, Dynomutt. Fortunately, association with Dynomutt is as disasterous for the crooks as it is for Blue Falcon. He usually manages to win, if only by a technicality. Powers and Abilities: Blue Falcon's abilities are pretty much what you'd expect from a Batman rip-off. He's a martial artist and inventor, has some detective skills, and packs a few odd gadgets such as a set of magnetic bolos to entangle crooks with. The Falconcar is appropriately fast and spiffy. Crown is also knowledgeable about art, art history and techniques, and art forgery. Disadvantages: Radley Crown's greatest weakness is the pride that prevents his from scrapping or at least reprograming Dynomutt. He's also disgustingly grim in his hero persona; constant humiliation at the paws of his sidekick has caused him to try too hard to seek recognition as a "serious" hero. Blue Falcon has been successful enough that criminals sometimes seek to put him out of the way before they attempt their big heist. He's been unsuccessful enough (and Dynomutt has caused property damage enough) that the police keep a wary eye on his activities. Height: cm (6' 3"), Weight: kg (209 lbs), Sex: Male, Race: Caucasian Appearance: Radley Crown is a tall, muscular man who looks vaguely like Roger Moore and projects a similar sense of roguish charm. He wears Armani suits in public and a smoking jacket and ascot in private. As Blue Falcon, he wears a blue, caped costume with a red letter "F" on the chest, a yellow belt, and yellow gloves and boots shaped like talons. His cowl looks like a distorted falcon head, with red "eyes" acting as ear protectors and the yellow beak covering his forehead and chin. Presumably, this is enough to conceal his identity. It certainly conceals his personality; Crown loses his charm and sense of humor while in costume. ======= Hero System write-up by Kevin Scrivner
