He has impersonated Crossbones. Occupation: Hero and adventurer, former soldier and artist. Current group affiliation: Avengers (honorary founder and co-leader). Past group affiliations: Invaders, Secret Wars Heroes, Army of the Goddess, Queen's Vengeance, Redeemers and he was leader of his own band of loosely organized heroes which included Falcon, Demolition-Man, Diamondback, Free Spirit, Nomad III and others. Major enemies: Red Skull, Ultron, Crossbones, formerly Baron Zemo. First appearance: Captain America #1, Avengers #4 (first modern appearance). Origin: Tales of Suspense #63 Description: Steve is a muscular man standing 6'2'' tall and weighing 220 lbs. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He wears a distinctive blue armored costume with red and white highlights. Explanation of the conversion: I decided to not grant Captain America ANY superhuman Characteristics, since he is supposed to be a "perfect" human, not superhuman. For those wishing to play a Golden Age campaign with Captain America, you should remove his Avengers ID card radio and change it to a Contact with Allied forces. You can also change his Rivalry to one with Namor. History: Born during the Great Depression, Steven Grant Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the news reel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the U.S. Army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment... Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by vita-rays. Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Captain America served as a member of the Invaders during World War II, along side his partner Bucky, the Human Torch, Toro and Namor the Submariner. Around the end of World War II Bucky was killed and Captain America was frozen in a block of ice. This block of ice would later be discovered by the Captain's old Invaders partner, Namor the Sub-Mariner and thrown into the sea. He was discovered by the Avengers and because of the Super-Soldier Serum survived being frozen. He then joined the Avengers (Avengers #4). Captain America was among the number of heroes who were transported to the Battleworld of the Beyonder. While on this planet his shield was cracked, but the Captain discovered that this planet had a habit of making desires come true and he was able to repair the shield through force of will (Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #1-12). Captain America was among the heroes who were mentally compelled into joining the Goddess in her Infinity Crusade (Infinity Crusade #1). Captain America was among the people invited to the wedding of Rick Jones and Marlo Chandler. He gave the bride away (Incredible Hulk #418). Captain America was among the members of the Avengers who were captured by Morgan Le Fay and mind controlled into becoming her personal guard, the Queen's Vengeance. While briefly under her control he went by the name Yoeman America (Avengers III #2-3). The Absorbing Man was then hired by Hydra to assist Crossbones and keep Captain America busy as Crossbones planted a bomb. During his fight the Absorbing Man became bricks, steel and electricty, but then Cap dumped a water tower on Creen in his electrical form. Absorbing Man was able to become water and survived unharmed. Absorbing Man then attempted to absorb Captain America's shield, but was tricked into touching the Captain himself, becoming human. Captain America was then able to defeat him with one good punch to the jaw. Cap then fought Crossbones, but the bomb was already set and Crossbones ran off. Absorbing Man recovered and turned to bricks again to confront Cap, but Cap convinced him that the bomb would kill thousands of people. Absorbing Man absorbed Cap's shield to make himself invulnerable and grabbed the bomb, containing the explosion. Absorbing Man then escaped by absorbing the smoke from the bomb and floating away, vowing to get even with Crossbones and Hydra (Captain America III #24). Captain America was temporarely assigned as leader of the Redeemers, but then returned to the Avengers. Trivia: In the alternate future depicted in What If II #114 Steven married and had a daughter with the X-Man Rogue and named her Sarah Rogers. This daughter became the hero known as Crusader III, having inherrited her mother's strength, invulnerability and flight as well as her father's shield and the hammer of Thor. Powers: Captain America has the agility, strength, endurance, and reaction time superior to that of any Olympic athlete. The Super-Solider serum has enhanced all of his bodily functions to the peak of human efficiency. Captain America has also mastered the martial arts styles of American-style boxing and judo. Combined with his indestructible shield, Captain America is one of the finest human combatants Earth has ever known. At times in the past the Captain had carried other shields, including one made of adamantium, one made of vibranium and a photonic shield. For a brief time while he has in bad health because of a breakdown of his Super-Soldier Serium, Captain America wore an exoskelton designed by Tony Stark, the Avenger known as Iron Man. For a brief time Captain America was infected with lyncanthropy and became a werewolf, but he was cured of that. Character created by Marvel Comics. Champions rules conversion by Mathew R.
