Background: Earthquake joined the Imperial Guard early. His ability to command the rock and dirt of any planet made him an effective combatant. Recently, he met a crushing defeat at the hands of Terrax the Tamer, who overwhelmed his control over earth and shot him into orbit around a large star. As he slowly began to die (he was inexplicably drawing sustinance from the chunk of rock he was on) he had a vision of his people's earth god, the entity infromed Earthquake that he was to be the god's new champion. As a sign of his alligance to the new god Earthquake found a great opal embedded on his chest. When he awoke there was indeed said opal in his chest. He used his enhanced powers to take his asteroid back home. He has assumed a place of honor among the Guardsman and is afforded as much respect as a non-shi'ar is going to get.
