He has impersonated Ogre. Occupation: Government agent. Former hero and criminal inventor. Current group affiliation: Redeemers Past group affiliations: Thunderbolts, Hydra, Masters of Evil IV, partner to Mentallo. Major enemies: Hydra, Masters of Evil VI, Thunderbolts, S.H.I.E.L.D., Avengers. First appearance: Strange Tales #141 Origin: Thunderbolts Flashback #1 Description: Paul is an average looking man standing 5'8'' tall and weighing 160 lbs. He has brown eyes and no hair except a small beard. Explanation of the conversion: Fixer II is probably best played by someone who is very familiar with Champions rules so they can use the VPP to full effect. To reconfigure his VPP he should use his Inventor skill. History: Paul Norbert Ebersol was a child prodigy with such great mechanical aptitude that he took apart and repaired an alarm clock at age 3. By 10, he had built a small electric automobile; by 13, a relatively complex robotic arm, both from readily available spare parts. Dropping out of high school due to lack of interest, Ebersol was fired from a number of jobs because of his air of superiority and unorthodox approach to simple tasks. Seeking a challenge, he turned to the planning and execution of technologically assisted crimes. He found that such activities not only stimulated his intellect, but provided him with new raw materials to create even more advanced technological devices (mentioned in Thunderbolts Flashback #1). As the Fixer II he joined forces with the mutant mentalist Mentallo in attempting to take over a S.H.I.E.L.D. base in New York, but was defeated by Nick Fury (Strange Tales #142). He became chief of Hydra Science Division (Daredevil #121). The Fixer II attempted to steal Iron Man's Silver Centurion armor for it's technology on the west coast Avengers compound, but was defeated by Iron Man and Ka-zar (Iron Man #202). The Fixer II joined the Masters of Evil IV under Baron Zemo II in taking over the Avengers mansion (Avengers #273-274). He was captured and sent to prison, but escaped with Yellowjacket II. Although he made romantic advances twards her, she rejected him. He battled her and the Black Knight V (Solo Avengers #12). When most of Earth's heroes, including the Avengers and Fantastic Four, seemingly died battling Onslaught, Ebersol joined forces with Baron Zemo. To gain the trust of the populace, the villains led the world to believe they were new heroes known as the Thunderbolts. During a battle with the Elements of Doom, Techno was cut down. However, his consciousness downloaded into his tech pack and survived, and he re-emerged in a robotic body of his own design. Zemo's deception ultimately failed. But while his teammates chose to become legitimate heroes, Techno remained a villain. When the Thunderbolts created a base at Mt. Charteris, he stole in and subdued its caretaker, Ogre. He then assumed Ogre's identity and presented himself as such to the Thunderbolts. Techno was eventually killed by the assassin Scourge IX, but before he died Techno was able to revive the dead form of Thunderbolts team member Jolt II. He then reappeared in human form and going by the named the Fixer II again as a member of the Redeemers (Thunderbolts #49). When confronting the Thunderbolts they learned that the Fixer II had no memories of his time as a robotic lifeform (Thunderbolts #50). Note: Ebersol is in no way connected to the first Fixer, who was Rosco Sweeney, a crooked fight promoter who was responsible for the death of Daredevil's father. Powers: Ebersol is a normal human being with an almost superhuman intellect, with talents in electronics and a number of sciences. He wears a tech pack and costume which protects him from harm and allows him to fly. This pack can be reconfigured at his mental command to make almost any device he can imagine, and he can imagine quite a lot! For a while Fixer II existed in a robotic body of his own design which he could reconfigure at will. Character created by Marvel Comics. Conversion to Champions rules by Mathew R.
