I don't like it. If you must call me something, call me... the Haunting!'' - Janet meets Vortex in Elementals II #16, May 1991 Real name: Janet Murphy, formerly Janet Brown Other known aliases: Ghost Girl, G.G. Occupation: Government agent, former librarian. Current group affiliation: Strikeforce America, ally to the Elementals. Past group affiliations: Congress of the Supernature. Major enemies: Oblivion, the Shadowspear. First appearance: Elementals II #16 Origin: Elementals II #26 Description: Janet is a beautiful woman who appears to be in her late 20's. She has brown hair and eyes. She wears a red body suit with a brown cloak. Explanation of the conversion: The Haunting's powers are based on my general knowledge of supernatural beings in the Elementals series and what I recall of her. As I go back and reread the comics I may have to make changes. History: Janet Brown was born January 31st, 1898. She lived an uneventful life and became a librarian Wichita, Kansas. In 1929 she came to the notice of the sorcerer Saker, who realized she possessed a great amount of darkforce. He killed her and performed rituals on her body because he was curious about what powers should would manifest, but was disappointed by her abilities. He placed her in storage in his headquarters on Naucht Island where she stayed until the U.S. government took the island in 1984. She was recruited into Strikeforce America alongside Commander Chaos, Kid Chaos, Jumpstart, Skyscraper, Doctor Thunder and Microman. She met Jeff Murphy, the air elemental called Vortex, when he came to Naucht island (Elementals II #16). She was among the superhumans who were gathered by Monolith on Asgard to discuss the attack on Earth by the Oblivion planet. While there she became engaged to Jeff. After the war with Oblivion Janet was assigned to aid Freemason III in stopping Bloody Mary from stealing magic artifacts from the Masons. She proved to be immune to Bloody Mary's powers over blood because of her ghost-like form. She and the Freemason III had a one night stand, but then she made it back time for her wedding to Jeff (Elementals: Ghost of a Chance). Powers: Janet is a supernatural creature with ghost-like powers. She doesn't age and has amazing healing powers. She can fly, become invisible, become immaterial and change her form to that of a horrible corpse. She uses this last ability to frighten her opponents. Janet has a uniform made of ectoplasm, which she can call up at will and repairs itself. Character created by Comico. Champions rules conversion by Mathew R. Ignash - mathewignash@yahoo.com.
