In combat, Zok circles overhead, attempting to wear foes down with its laser blasts while keeping its distance from the fray. Despite its strength and claws it rarely tackles opponents hand to hand (paw to paw?). The dragon's maneuverability while in flight offsets the normal DCV penalties for its size. On land, it waddles along clumsily on its hind legs. When it zaps an opponent, Zok emits a delighted screech. Powers and Abilities: Zok can fly, even in outer space, and is able to endure the harsh conditions found outside an atmosphere. When Zandor has to commandeer an enemy spacecraft, Zok is able to keep up under its own power. The dragon does need to eat; its Life Support represents its ability to go without food during the long journey between worlds. Instead of breathing fire, the space dragon fires laser beams from its eyes and tail. It can carry up to three people on its shoulders and routinely gives Zandor and his family rides. The dragon has keen senses. Its huge eyes can see in near darkness and are protected from debris (and Flash attacks) by a nictitating membrane. Its skill KS: Herculoid Battle Tactics represents its ability to cooperate with the other monsters during combat. Zok understands Amzotian (or whatever language it is that Zandor speaks) but can't talk itself. Disadvantages: Zok spends much of its time near Zandor's home and frequently attends Zandor's wife, Tara, on household errands. The dragon is somewhat possessive around her and son Dorno and may react negatively if one of the other monsters attempts to get some attention. This is especially true of the shapeshifter Gleep, whom Dorno treats as a pet. Zok is incurably curious and tends to wander off to examine some new phenomenon when the group is on an expedition. Height: cm (18' 1"), Weight: 3200 kg ( lbs), Sex: Unknown, Race: Space Dragon Appearance: In general form, Zok is pretty much your standard quadraped, bat-winged dragon. It has a single horn projecting from the top of its head, floppy kangaroo-like ears, and huge, limpid red eyes. Its tan skin is leathery rather than scaly. The overall effect is equine rather than reptilian, and Zok is rather cute despite its sharp claws. Zok measures about 30 feet from snout to tail tip but stands 18 feet tall when crouching on its rear haunches. It favors a bipedal stance, although it can walk on all fours. Its forepaws are just flexible enough to enable Zok to pick up and throw an object, such as a rock. ========= Hero System write-up by Kevin Scrivner
